Hugo Cárdenas

In this clip, Hugo describes his work in painting in relation to the political uprisings that
were taking place in Santiago during the days of dictatorship, especially in and around
the universities, and compares that state of rebellion with the atmosphere of today.

Hugo Cárdenas Ortega, Chilean painter, was born in the south of Chile in 1964.
In 1975 he took root in Santiago and studied art in the University of Chile, where
he graduated in 1991. He has exhibited individually and collectively in Chile and
abroad. His style is framed within realism and by art.
